A striking and finely detailed piece of Scandinavian glass design, this Orrefors “Graal” No. 235-E, designed by Edward Hald, captures an underwater scene with quiet elegance. The piece features two fish, including a clearly defined pike, swimming among delicately formed seaweed — all encased in thick, layered clear glass, giving the scene real depth and dimensionality.
Standing approximately 15–16cm tall, it’s an excellent example of Hald’s ability to bring natural subjects to life in glass, using subtle engraving and layering techniques. The base is fully inscribed with “Orrefors Graal No. 235-E, Edward Hald, 05011 0028”. A wonderful collector’s piece in excellent condition.
